Forums on Affordable Care Act will address community questions

The series offers two forums: one for nonprofits and one for community members.

Navigating the New World of Health Care Coverage. This forum offers two sessions focused on the informational needs of nonprofit organizations. The first session includes a briefing on the Affordable Care Act and how those changes will affect the health care landscape of Minnesota. The second session provides nonprofit staff with tools to help the people they serve to enroll in affordable health care. Nonprofits are encouraged to attend one or both of these sessions.

New Options for Health Care Coverage will help community members understand the steps to becoming enrolled in affordable health care through MNsure. The forum offers two sessions. The first session includes a briefing on the Affordable Care Act and how those changes will affect the health care landscape of Minnesota. The second session will help community members understand the steps to becoming enrolled in affordable health care through MNsure. Community members are encouraged to attend one or both of these sessions.

Speakers include: Christina Wessel, Minnesota Budget Project; Elaine Cunningham, Children's Defense Fund-Minnesota; Leigh Grauman, Portico Healthnet; Jessica Crowley, Health Care Access Offfice; and Ralonda Mason, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid.

Co-sponsors include Blue Cross Blue Shield, Children's Defense Fund-Minnesota, Portico Healthnet, the Minnesota Budget Project, and Minnesota Council of Nonprofits.
